Rockwood Conservation Fund

Meet Wicus Diedericks & Liam Smit

The Rockwood Conservation Fund was founded by Wicus Diedericks, owner of Rockwood Conservation, and Liam Smit, the South African wildlife veterinarian known as The Rhino Doctor.

Together, they are protecting one of the largest privately held rhino populations in the world.

More than 450 rhinos are raised and safeguarded across 33,000 acres in South Africa’s Northern Cape Province. Among them are orphaned and vulnerable calves rescued from the aftermath of poaching. These animals require round-the-clock care in Rockwood’s dedicated rhino nursery.

The reality is simple and unforgiving:

Just feeding one baby rhino can cost over $10,000 in milk alone.

Protection at this scale takes more than good intentions. It takes resources, commitment, and people willing to support the work long after the cameras are gone.

Why the Rockwood Conservation Fund Exists

Wicus and Liam created the Rockwood Conservation Fund to ensure the long-term care, feeding, and protection of rhinos that cannot survive on their own.

This is not a symbolic effort.

It is hands-on, daily, and expensive.

Every dollar goes toward keeping calves fed, protected, and alive while they grow strong enough to return to the wild.

HOW YOU HELP.

Bri Coelho with a baby rhino

With every bottle of Horn & Heat sold, a portion goes directly to the Rockwood Conservation Fund.

That support helps:

  • Feed orphaned rhino calves
  • Fund veterinary care
  • Sustain long-term conservation efforts

Your love of hot sauce becomes part of something far bigger than the bottle.
